Leonardo Almaguer studied medicine in Cuba, graduating in 1997, a general practitioner. A few years later, he specialized in family medicine and started practicing it. But, his passion for medicine drove him back to school to get his third specialization in Nephrology and subsequently in Intensive Medicine. After years of studying and practicing medicine in Cuba, Leonardo decided to immigrate to the United States. Since his arrival in 2012, Leonardo re-initiated his studies to become a healthcare professional in the US. Serving his community as a healthcare professional is Leonardo’s mission. Becoming the owner of Clinica de Luz has been a dream turned into reality after several years of study and hard work. Besides owning Clinica de Luz, Leonardo is also the clinic’s nurse practitioner, where all the patients know him as kind and empathetic.

Luz Serrano graduated in Cuba from the School of Medicine in 1997. She became a family medicine practitioner, and later on, Luz also specialized in Forensic Science. Luz arrived in the US in 2013. Since her arrival, she has continued with her studies, enabling her to pursue her healthcare career in the US as a registered nurse. Certified by the Texas Laser Institute, Luz is an expert in different facial-beauty procedures. Her patients rave about her professionalism and how much they enjoy their appointments. Luz is a mom who loves to spend her free time at home with her kids.

Dr. Gilberto Serrano Ocana graduated in Cuba as a medical doctor in 1988, later specializing in internal medicine in 1993. Before moving to the US in August 2016, Dr. Serrano practiced medicine in his native country of Cuba and South Africa for more than twenty-five years. Dr. Serrano has passed all the US exams in less than two years to obtain his medical license and to continue serving his local community. He is known for listening attentively to all his patients, giving them the attention they deserve. As he explains in detail his diagnosis and prescribed treatment options, he ensures his patients feel comfortable and understand the next steps. Dr. Serrano has been a wonderful addition to the clinical de Luz medical team. He is respected and loved by all his patients.
